![]() What is really important is life our people, our animals, our plant life. One loses sight, but I have seen this week how it can be vaporized in a matter of minutes. If those helicopters accomplish their goal, perhaps I can round later today. The pulmonology service is slammed, but managing. Again, I am trying to take care of myself more than I have. It is difficult for healthy people to endure this, and our already compromised folks are in big trouble. The pulmonary influx for the hospital is of epic proportions, however. I watch as the helicopters scoop the lake nearby. Smoke from this and the many other fires is a blanket over some areas, but on my little hill it is a bit better. ![]() The smoke cannot be completely excluded from the indoors, and outside is very unhealthful. It was very hard to get here last evening, and I am very close to evac status. I have chosen to remain at home today, a tough choice. There is an ominous threat one ridge away. My home is my paradise I have worked hard and paid much with the result being a refuge and a place to regenerate. At the moment, however, our corner of the world is ablaze, but today there is hope. It has been some time since then, and the press of work and related matters does not relent. ![]() OK, so the title of my last post had no particular relavance.
